أثار المسلسل الرمضاني «تحت الوصاية» الذي يعرّض في مصر، جدلاً حول وضع التعامل مع الأرملة، وحرّك دعوة برلمانية لإلغاء المجلس الحبسي.
فحين ذهبت حنان، التي تجسّد دور أرملة وأم لطفلين، إلى البنك لتحرير شهادة ادخار خاصة بطفلها اليتيم، رفض الموظف المسؤول بدعوى عدم توفر شهادة من «المجلس الحسبي»، لتبدأ رحلة معاناة الشخصية، التي تلعبها الفنانة منى زكي، مع نظام «المجلس الحسبي» في مصر.
وبادرت الدكتورة رانيا الجزايرلي، عضو مجلس النواب المصري، بتقديم اقتراح إلى المستشار حنفي جبالي، رئيس البرلمان المصري، وكذلك المستشار عمر مروان، وزير العدل، تطالب فيه بإعادة النظر في نظام «المجلس الحسبي» الذي يفرض وصاية على الأم الأرملة بشأن التصرف في ميراث أولادها، وما يصاحب ذلك من معوقات تُصعّب الحياة على الأرملة.
وعبّرت الجزايرلي عن أملها في أن «يساهم العمل الدرامي (تحت الوصاية) في تسليط الضوء على ما تعانيه الأرملة والأطفال الأيتام بسبب هذا القانون».
ونظام «المجلس الحسبي» يشير إلى القانون الخاص بالولاية على أموال القُصّر، وينص على أنَّ «الأم الأرملة ليس لها حق الوصاية، والتصرف المباشر في أموال أبنائها ممن لم يبلغوا سن الرشد (21 عاماً حسب القانون)، بينما تؤول الوصاية المالية بعد وفاة الأب بالتبعية إلى الجد ثم إلى العم، وفي حال رغبة الأم في انتقال الوصاية المالية لها، عليها أولاً التقدم لـ(المجلس الحسبي) بطلب وصاية قد يعيقه عدم رغبة الجد والعم».

Typhoon Saudel made two landfalls on China's eastern coast on Friday morning, as authorities evacuated people and halted trains and ferries.

The typhoon made landfall at the city of Taizhou around 8:05 a.m. (0005 GMT) and the city of ‌Wenzhou around ‌9:10 a.m. (0110 GMT), according to ‌state ⁠media, marking the ⁠third typhoon to strike the eastern province of Zhejiang this year.

Saudel is set to bring heavy rain to Zhejiang and Fujian, a province on the southeast ⁠coast, with possibilities of local torrential ‌downpours, state-run ‌Xinhua news agency reported.

As the typhoon ‌moves inland, it could drench ‌provincial-level regions including Hubei, Guangxi and Yunnan.

The Wenzhou government ordered the evacuation of more than 820,000 people, while Taizhou ‌authorities suspended eight passenger ferry routes and identified 52,000 people needing evacuation, ⁠state ⁠broadcaster CCTV reported.

Rail operator China Railway Shanghai Group temporarily suspended some services on several lines in Zhejiang from Thursday to Friday, according to CCTV.

Fujian launched an emergency response to the typhoon on Thursday, halting projects along the coast and closing 57 passenger ferry routes.

Sudanese welder Shannan Mohammed has been building furniture for a family in Omdurman little by little as constant blackouts interrupt his work.

Pointing to half-built doors, chairs, and tables in the courtyard of a home, he says, "All this is money that has been frozen because of lack of electricity stopping the work."

Army-controlled areas of Sudan have been plagued by blackouts that have worsened recently due to a combination of targeting of the power grid by the ‌rival Rapid Support ‌Forces (RSF) and meager government funding to carry out ‌repairs.

The ⁠blackouts have impeded ⁠the lives of hundreds of thousands who have returned to Khartoum since the army retook it last year and have undermined attempts to rebuild the devastated economy.

"They give you five hours [of power], and then it cuts. It comes back the next day. And it has no benefit for a working person because it comes at night," ⁠Mohammed said.

Even household tasks have become impossible, Mohammed's sister ‌Awatef told Reuters.

"Every time I ‌do the laundry, I don't get to finish it because the power cuts ‌off," she said. "We only eat take-out from the street, so ‌that nothing is left over for us to put in the refrigerator."

High gas prices put generators out of reach for many. Earlier this month, Sudan's prime minister exempted solar panels for personal use from customs and fees.

The conflict ‌in Sudan has increasingly turned into a drone war, with both sides targeting key civilian infrastructure ⁠in addition to ⁠military targets. The war has devastated livelihoods and spread famine in multiple parts of the country.

"The targeting of the electricity sector in particular was very significant," said a spokesperson for the Khartoum state government, Altayeb Saadeldin, listing looting of copper wires and fuel and other components, as well as drone attacks, as reasons for the outages.

Sudan's main power source, the Merowe dam, had been among targets hit, he said, adding that the delay of annual rains had also impacted power generation in other dams.

Asked for comment, an RSF source said allegations that the RSF had targeted the power grid were "incorrect and army propaganda".

Serbia's justice minister Nenad Vujic said Friday that former Bosnian Serb military leader and convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic "will receive all the military and state honors to which he is entitled".

Mladic died on Thursday while serving a life sentence in The Hague for war crimes committed during the 1990s Bosnian war.

"It is certain that General Mladic will receive all the military and state honors to which he is entitled, as far as the state is concerned," Vujic told the K1 broadcaster.

Serbian officials were awaiting details on when authorities in The Hague would release the body, he said.

"We are ready to leave for The Hague as soon as we learn what the next steps are," the minister said.

Mladic, who had suffered several strokes in recent months, was serving a life sentence for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity during the Bosnian war, including for his role in the Srebrenica massacre, Europe's worst act of bloodshed since World War II.

His conviction for the wartime killings as the former Yugoslavia descended into carnage after the fall of communism led the international press to dub him the "Butcher of Bosnia".

The 1992-1995 war left around 100,000 people dead and 2.2 million displaced.

Mladic was the military face of a brutal trio, led on the political side by ex-Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic and former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic.
