أصدر الشيخ محمد بن زايد آل نهيان، رئيس دولة الإمارات، بموافقة المجلس الأعلى للاتحاد، قراراً بتعيين الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير ديوان الرئاسة، نائباً لرئيس الدولة، إلى جانب الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي.
كما أصدر الشيخ محمد بن زايد بصفته حاكماً لإمارة أبوظبي مرسوماً أميرياً بتعيين الشيخ هزاع بن زايد آل نهيان والشيخ طحنون بن زايد آل نهيان نائبين لحاكم أبوظبي.
كذلك، أصدر رئيس الدولة بصفته حاكماً لإمارة أبوظبي مرسوماً أميرياً بتعيين الشيخ خالد بن محمد بن زايد آل نهيان ولياً للعهد في إمارة أبوظبي.
ولد الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان في أبوظبي عام 1970، وتلقّى تعليمه العام في مدارس أبوظبي، ونال درجة البكالوريوس في العلاقات الدولية من الولايات المتحدة عام 1993.
وعُيّن عام 1997، رئيساً لمكتب الشيخ زايد بن سلطان، وأصبح نائباً لرئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزيراً لوزارة شؤون الرئاسة في التشكيل الوزاري لعام 2009.
ثم عُيّن الشيخ منصور بن زايد وزيراً لوزارة شؤون الرئاسة عام 2004، بعد دمج مكتب رئيس الدولة وديوان الرئاسة، ثم تم تكليفه برئاسة المجلس الوزاري للخدمات عام 2006، وفي عام 2007 عُين رئيساً لجهاز الإمارات للاستثمار، وهو آلية اتحادية تتولى استثمار الأموال نيابة عن الحكومة الاتحادية.
ويشغل الشيخ منصور بن زايد عدداً من المناصب في إمارة أبوظبي وعلى مستوى الحكومة الاتحادية.
وكذلك يترأس الشيخ منصور بن زايد مجلس إدارة شركة «مبادلة»، وهي شركة الاستثمار السيادي لحكومة أبوظبي.

أعلنت سلطة الطيران المدني في نيبال، اليوم (الاثنين)، أن رحلة «فلاي دبي» رقم «576» بطائرة «بوينغ 737 - 800»، من كاتماندو إلى دبي، تمضي بشكل طبيعي، وتواصل مسارها نحو وجهتها كما كان مخططاً. كانت مصادر لوكالة «إيه إن آي» للأنباء أفادت باشتعال نيران في طائرة تابعة للشركة الإماراتية، لدى إقلاعها من مطار كاتماندو النيبالي، وفق ما نقلت وكالة «رويترز». وأشارت «إيه إن آي» إلى أن الطائرة كانت تحاول الهبوط بالمطار الدولي الوحيد في نيبال، الذي يبعد نحو 6 كيلومترات عن مركز العاصمة. ولم يصدر أي تعليق من شركة «فلاي دبي» حول الحادثة حتى اللحظة.

The US government announced fresh sanctions on Tuesday against 13 individuals and entities, including some based in Russia, China, Hong Kong and Pakistan, saying they helped Iran procure weapons and components.

The sanctions announced by the Treasury and State departments are part of the Trump administration's effort to isolate Iran economically and force it to negotiate an end to the war that began with a US-Israeli strike on Iran on February 28.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said: “Treasury will not tolerate any support to the ‌regime and ‌will continue to identify, expose, and isolate Iran’s ‌enablers.”

Treasury ⁠said the sanctions ⁠were aimed at degrading Tehran's ability to reconstitute its weapons programs, while increasing the costs for those who supported its procurement efforts.

Those targeted in Tuesday's sanctions announcements include:

* Seyyed Asghar Alizadeh Tabatabai, a Beijing-based representative of Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics agency, who Treasury said had coordinated ⁠the procurement of finished weapons systems and dual-use ‌components in China on Iran’s behalf.

* ‌Iran-based Kavoshcom Asia R and D Group, which Treasury said had ‌procured electronics including connectors for Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company.

* ‌Hong Kong-based EC Mojo Technology Co Limited, which Treasury said had provided electronic components in support of Kavoshcom’s procurement efforts, and EC Mojo's China-based representative Li Fen.

* Pakistan-based Waseem Pasha Tajammal, who serves ‌as chairman of Cavalier Group, a privately owned defense company with locations in Pakistan and internationally.

* ⁠Joint Stock ⁠Company Experimental Design Bureau Named After A.S. Yakovlev, a Russia-based aircraft manufacturer.

* MG-Flot LLC, a Russia-based shipping company whose vessels transport weapons for the Russian government.

* Saha Airlines, an Iran-based airline affiliated with the country's air force.

Brett Erickson, managing principal with Obsidian Risk Advisors, said the latest sanctions action would do little to impede Iran's ability to launch missiles and drones in the Strait of Hormuz.

"This is optics management for the Trump administration to claim 'We're hammering them,' when the reality is we're poking them with a toothpick," he said.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced a “remarkably capable, always-on” artificial intelligence agent at an appearance Tuesday, a day after the company halted the rollout of a more advanced model over security concerns.

At the company’s annual developer conference, Altman made a slew of product announcements and updates, including OpenAI's new agents, called Dots. The agents, designed to complete ongoing tasks proactively on behalf of users, are a competitor of Meta's personal agent Muse, which exploded in popularity after Meta's own conference last week.

Dot agents will be “like an AI helper that always has your back, inspired by the cool versions of what we all watched in movies growing up," Altman said.

On Monday, OpenAI said it was holding off on releasing the other model because of concerns raised by its researchers. That followed broader calls within the industry to decelerate the pace of the technology’s advance to let safety measures catch up.

Altman avoided making references to security concerns around the shelved model during his keynote address, but said during a question-and-answer session that the company was investing more in safety, security and monitoring of AI agents.

The AI boom should be considered more like a period of renaissance than an industrial revolution, he said.

“The best version of AI is not about making people cogs in a giant machine, ever whirring faster and faster. There are some parts of life that we cannot and should not automate,” Altman said. “AI should be about giving people more power over their own lives, more tools to create, learn, discover, expand knowledge.”

The company also announced the release of GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgraded version of its model GPT-6 Sol, and a premium speed tier called “Ultrafast," among other launches and updates.

OpenAI's announcements came as Altman's industry peers were meeting with President Donald Trump Tuesday. While many in Silicon Valley have called for the government to help establish guardrails for the technology, Trump has pushed back against the idea of greater government oversight of AI.

While Altman didn't attend, OpenAI president and co-founder Greg Brockman was at the White House, along with Dario Amodei of Anthropic, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, Tesla and SpaceX’s Elon Musk and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Several other industry leaders joined them, along with senior administration officials and House Speaker Mike Johnson.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he does not know if Iran is going to "give up yet" but cast the country as doing "very poorly" in its war with the US.

"I don't know if they are going to give up ‌yet but ‌they'll give up," Trump told reporters.

"They ‌are ⁠doing very poorly," ⁠he added.

A US blockade has cut Iran's financial lifeline - oil exports, and economic costs of the war have made life tougher for Iranians.

Iran's president told the UN General Assembly last ⁠week that Tehran would never surrender to ‌US pressure.

The rise in oil prices due to the ‌war has also become a major issue ‌for Trump's Republican Party heading into the November US midterm elections.

The war has led to the blockade of the Strait of ‌Hormuz, which carried a fifth of global supplies of crude oil ⁠and ⁠LNG before the conflict.

Trump has offered shifting goals and timelines for the Iran war that began on February 28 when the US and Israel attacked Iran and Tehran responded with its own strikes on Israel and Gulf states.

US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed thousands and displaced millions.
