سجل القطاع المصرفي السعودي نمواً مستقراً في الإقراض خلال الربع الثالث من عام 2025؛ إذ ارتفع إجمالي القروض والسلف بنسبة 2.5 في المائة على أساس فصلي، مدفوعاً بزيادة الإقراض للشركات بنسبة 3.0 في المائة، التي تمثل نحو 59 في المائة من إجمالي القروض، إلى جانب ارتفاع الإقراض للأفراد بنسبة 1.7 في المائة، في تسارع مقارنة بالربع الثاني.

وحسب أحدث تقرير لشركة «ألفاريز آند مارسال» العالمية، الثلاثاء، تباطأ نمو الودائع إلى 2.2 في المائة على أساس فصلي، مقارنة بـ2.7 في المائة خلال الربع الثاني، متأثراً بتراجع الودائع لدى «البنك الأهلي السعودي»، سواء في ودائع الحسابات الجارية والتوفير التي انخفضت بنسبة 2.5 في المائة، أو الودائع لأجل التي تراجعت بنسبة 7.9 في المائة.

كما سجلت ودائع الجهات المرتبطة بالحكومة تراجعاً طفيفاً، لتتراجع حصتها إلى 31.2 في المائة من إجمالي الودائع.

وشمل التقرير البنوك العشرة الأكبر المدرجة في السوق السعودية، وهي: «البنك الأهلي السعودي»، ومصرف «الراجحي»، وبنك «الرياض»، و«البنك السعودي الأول»، و«البنك السعودي الفرنسي»، و«البنك العربي الوطني»، ومصرف «الإنماء»، وبنك «البلاد»، و«البنك السعودي للاستثمار»، وبنك «الجزيرة».

الدخل التشغيلي

وارتفع الدخل التشغيلي بنسبة 1.8 في المائة على أساس فصلي، في تباطؤ طفيف مقارنة بنمو بلغ 2 في المائة خلال الربع الثاني، في حين استقر صافي دخل الفوائد عند 0.1 في المائة.

وسجل دخل الرسوم والعمولات نمواً بنسبة 3.8 في المائة، مدعوماً بارتفاع قوي في بنود الدخل التشغيلي الأخرى بنسبة 12.6 في المائة، ولا سيما في «البنك الأهلي السعودي» الذي ارتفع دخله التشغيلي الآخر بنسبة 34.1 في المائة، ومصرف «الراجحي» بنسبة 15.3 في المائة. ونتيجة لذلك، ارتفع صافي الدخل المجمع بنسبة 2.8 في المائة، مقارنة بـ3.4 في المائة في الربع السابق.

وتراجع هامش صافي الفائدة بمقدار 7 نقاط أساس ليصل إلى 2.73 في المائة، في ظل استمرار الضغوط الناجمة عن ارتفاع تكاليف التمويل. وارتفعت تكلفة الأموال بمقدار 22 نقطة أساس إلى 3.6 في المائة، في حين صعد العائد على الائتمان بمقدار 17 نقطة أساس إلى 8.2 في المائة، ما أدى إلى مزيد من الضغط على الهوامش.

جودة الأصول

وعلى الرغم من ذلك، أظهرت البنوك انضباطاً أفضل في التكاليف، مع تراجع المصروفات التشغيلية بنسبة 0.9 في المائة، ما أسهم في تسجيل التحسن الثالث على التوالي في نسبة التكلفة إلى الدخل، التي انخفضت بمقدار 80 نقطة أساس لتصل إلى 28.7 في المائة، بدعم من مكاسب الكفاءة في عدد من البنوك الكبرى، من بينها «البنك الأهلي السعودي» وبنك «الرياض».

وسجل العائد على حقوق المساهمين ارتفاعاً طفيفاً بمقدار 6 نقاط أساس ليصل إلى 15.5 في المائة، في حين استقر العائد على الأصول عند 2.1 في المائة، بما يعكس متانة أداء القطاع المصرفي.

وأوضح التقرير أن جودة الأصول واصلت التحسن، مع تراجع نسبة القروض المتعثرة إلى 0.94 في المائة، وارتفاع نسبة التغطية إلى 158.1 في المائة.

أسس مالية قوية

وقال المدير التنفيذي، رئيس الخدمات المالية في الشرق الأوسط لدى «ألفاريز آند مارسال»، سام جيدومال، إن البنوك السعودية واصلت إظهار مرونة تشغيلية خلال الربع الثالث من عام 2025، مدعومة باستقرار نشاط الإقراض، والانضباط في إدارة التكاليف، وتحسن جودة الأصول، رغم الضغوط على الهوامش.

من جانبه، قال المدير التنفيذي للخدمات المالية في «ألفاريز آند مارسال»، كوينتن موليه ماركيز، إن البنوك السعودية تحافظ على أسس مالية قوية، مدعومة بأرباح قوية، وانخفاض معدلات القروض المتعثرة، ومستويات رأسمالية مريحة، مما يعزز ثقة المستثمرين ويدعم النشاط الاستثماري في القطاع.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz brought the firepower to take his place in the US Open quarter-finals while Aryna Sabalenka and Linda Noskova advanced on Sunday to set up a mouth-watering showdown between two big-hitting Grand Slam winners.

There were high expectations from American fans with seven home favorites scheduled to play across both singles draws, but day session defeats for Tommy Paul and Taylor Townsend dampened spirits slightly in the day session.

But Frances Tiafoe dismantled 2021 champion Daniil Medvedev and fellow American Alex Michelsen beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry to keep the stars and stripes flying high, before Ben Shelton, Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro sparkled in the evening.

Back to his irresistible best in his comeback tournament after nearly five months out with a wrist injury, second seed Alcaraz unleashed some stunning winners to thump Paul 6-4 6-3 6-4 on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

"I'm really happy to see where my level is right now," Alcaraz ‌told reporters. "Beating Tommy ‌is always great feedback to see where you are, and I'm just really happy with ‌everything ⁠I've done today.

"I ⁠saw the game really well, what I had to do in every moment, using the right things in every moment. Hopefully, I can keep it going."

Alcaraz hit perhaps the best of his many forehand rockets on the day to raise matchpoint and the 23-year-old eased through to send a warning to the depleted men's field in New York, where he is bidding to claim a third title.

"It felt like he's playing at a completely different level than me," Paul said.

"I could have played a lot better and still lost."

The year's final Grand Slam began without injured world number one Jannik Sinner and several other pullouts, while Novak Djokovic's first-round exit have stripped the tournament ⁠of some of its star power.

SABALENKA STAYS STRONG

Top seed Sabalenka earlier broke down the defenses ‌of 96th-ranked American Taylor Townsend to win 6-4 6-3 in a competitive contest ‌that belied the gulf in their rankings, subduing the inventive left-hander with a largely pristine display.

"It was challenging," reigning champion Sabalenka admitted.

"Going through tough ‌challenges and overcoming challenges, it definitely gives you strength and belief that you can do it. These kinds of matches ‌really boost your confidence."

Sixth seed Noskova showed her mettle in a 7-5 5-7 6-4 win over 11th seed Marta Kostyuk, collapsing to the court in relief after sealing the contest with an unreturnable serve on her sixth match point.

The Czech's run is her deepest in New York and continues a remarkable year in which she claimed her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, becoming the latest major winner from the European country's proven ‌assembly line of talent.

Five American men made the fourth round this year, the most since 1995, as they bid to end a frustrating 23-year wait for a homegrown champion ⁠since Andy Roddick hoisted the glittering ⁠trophy at Flushing Meadows.

But after Paul fell, Tiafoe took down seventh seed Medvedev 7-6(1) 6-4 7-6(6) at a raucous Louis Armstrong Stadium to set up a clash with Michelsen, who beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-6(6) 6-4 6-4 on Grandstand.

Tiafoe is unbeaten in 10 matches at a venue he has dubbed the "people's court" and said he was pleased to finish with his record intact for another year with Arthur Ashe likely to host his next match.

"Armstrong is crazy. It's just an energy thing. Courts, dimensions, everything is the same on every court. Energy is insane. I kept requesting it," Tiafoe added.

"I'm happy I get to leave on the 10-0 record on that court. We'll save it for next year. It's just been fun."

The 22-year-old Michelsen, who has not dropped a set in the tournament, is into his maiden Grand Slam quarter-final.

Eighth seed Shelton outshone Stefanos Tsitsipas under the lights with a 6-2 6-3 6-4 victory to boost home hopes of a first American men's Grand Slam champion in more than two decades, but faces a stern test in the form of Alcaraz.

Fellow American Jessica Pegula clinched a 6-3 6-4 win over Sorana Cirstea, who made her final Grand Slam appearance, before Navarro beat Anna Kalinskaya 6-4 6-2 to set up an all-American quarter-final.

When rescue dog Chloe is not tumbling across the grass on a farm outside India's tech capital Bengaluru, she is learning to sniff human breath for cancer with a little help from AI.

Fitted with a 3D-printed helmet and harness packed with sensors, Chloe is part of experimental efforts to use dogs' extraordinary sense of smell to develop a non-invasive test for the disease.

A growing body of global research suggests dogs can be trained to detect cancer and other human illnesses, from Parkinson's to Covid-19.

The Bengaluru-based startup Dognosis is using AI to analyze dogs' brain activity, respiration and body language -- turning their reaction to scent into data.

"In an hour, they can do thousands of sniffs," co-founder Akash Kulgod, 26, told AFP. "Each sniff can evaluate a sample."

Dognosis hopes to launch commercially next year, which it says would make it the third company of its kind, after firms from Germany and Israel.

Early detection can make a crucial difference to cancer survival rates, but in India many patients are diagnosed only after the disease has advanced.

Dog sniffs could provide an easy and affordable first layer of screening to be deployed at scale, finding potential cases for further testing.

As it chases commercial approval, Dognosis -- backed by venture-capital firms including Accel India -- is collaborating with government medical institutions for its research.

Chloe, a Labrador mix, is one of 15 dogs being coached by the startup, clad in customized data-gathering helmets.

"It's like a doggy 'Iron Man' suit," said Kulgod, who comes from a family of doctors and studied cognitive science at the University of California, Berkeley.

- 'Promising' study -

Research suggests diseases can alter the chemicals released by the body, creating distinctive odors.

Dogs have around 300 million scent receptors, compared to about five million in humans.

The testing method is simple: a patient breathes into a cotton mask for about 10 minutes, and the mask is then sealed in a bag and taken to the lab. Patients do not meet the dogs.

A recent Dognosis study of more than 1,500 participants, involving six hospitals in Karnataka state, was published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

The company said it achieved an accuracy rate of more than 90 percent across seven major types of cancer, and now plans to test in real-world programs.

Cancer specialists in Bengaluru independent of the project voiced cautious optimism.

"The study is promising, as an early signal," said Santhosh Kumar Devadas, head of oncology at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital.

"But they need to do the study with a much larger group before we make any definitive conclusions."

Neelesh Reddy, a senior consultant oncologist at Manipal Hospitals, told AFP that "only time will tell how this technology will be useful to the actual patients".

- Dog 'work-life balance' -

India has described cancer as a major public health concern, saying one in nine of its 1.4 billion people are likely to develop the disease.

Dognosis says it aims to improve "proactive and preventative medicine" while boosting "human-canine communication".

Most of the dogs are beagles, along with some Malinois and Shepherd mixes, brought on board through adoption or legal breeders.

But only the best are selected, said Kulgod. The dog team individually lists each animal on the company website as an official "sniffer", alongside their photographs.

All have a great "work-life balance", with work time limited to around 30-45 minutes a day, he added.

At a center called "Sniffspace", dogs test human samples on platforms equipped with automatic feeders dispensing dog treats.

Kulgod's co-founder Itamar Bitan, 28, who spent four years in an Israeli special-forces canine unit, said the dogs were trained using "positive reinforcement" to detect a "specific funky smell" for a reward.

"Some of the dogs run directly to the feeder expecting rewards, some dogs freeze, some dogs will scratch the sample with excitement," Bitan said.

"But, as long as the machine that learns how the dogs react to the sample is very consistent... we don't really mind."

أظهرت بيانات صادرة عن بنك «لويدز»، يوم الاثنين، أن أسعار المنازل في بريطانيا سجلت أول انخفاض سنوي لها منذ ما يقرب من ثلاث سنوات، خلال أغسطس (آب) الماضي، في ظل إحجام بعض المشترين عن دخول السوق بسبب ارتفاع تكاليف الاقتراض المرتبطة بالتطورات الجيوسياسية الأخيرة وحرب إيران.

وكشفت بيانات أسعار المنازل، التابعة لـ«لويدز»، والتي كانت تُنشر سابقاً تحت علامة «هاليفاكس»، عن تراجع الأسعار بنسبة 0.4 في المائة على أساس سنوي، خلال أغسطس، في أول انخفاض من نوعه منذ نوفمبر (تشرين الأول) 2023، وذلك مقارنة بتوقعات خبراء الاقتصاد، الذين استطلعت «رويترز» آراءهم، والذين رجّحوا ارتفاعاً بنسبة 0.2 في المائة.

وعلى أساس شهري، انخفضت أسعار المنازل بنسبة 0.2 في المائة، خلال أغسطس، خلافاً للتوقعات التي أشارت إلى زيادة قدرها 0.1 في المائة. كما جرى تعديل قراءة يوليو (تموز) السابقة من نمو نسبته 0.1 في المائة إلى تراجع بنسبة 0.1 في المائة.

قال أندرو آسام، مدير الرهون العقارية ببنك «لويدز»، إن سوق الإسكان واجهت بيئة أكثر صعوبة، خلال الأشهر الأخيرة، مشيراً إلى أن تأثير الأحداث العالمية على معدلات التضخم وتكاليف الاقتراض أدى إلى زيادة حالة عدم اليقين الاقتصادي.

وأضاف أن السوق لا تشهد موجة واسعة من خفض الأسعار من قِبل أصحاب المنازل، إلا أن عدداً متزايداً من البائعين يفضّلون الانتظار، بدلاً من قبول عروض يعدُّونها منخفضة، في حين يترقب بعض المشترين اتضاح الرؤية بشأن الأوضاع الاقتصادية قبل اتخاذ قرارات الشراء.

في المقابل، أظهرت بيانات، صدرت الأسبوع الماضي، عن مؤسسة «نيشن وايد بيلدينغ سوسايتي» المنافِسة ارتفاع أسعار المنازل بنسبة 1.6 في المائة على أساس سنوي، خلال أغسطس، مع زيادة شهرية بلغت 0.2 في المائة.

من جهتها، توقعت روث غريغوري، نائبة كبير الاقتصاديين لدى «كابيتال إيكونوميكس»، استمرار الضغوط على سوق الإسكان، خلال الفترة المقبلة، مشيرة إلى أن الارتفاع الأخير بأسعار الفائدة بالسوق قد يدفع متوسط الفائدة على الرهون العقارية الثابتة لأجَل عامين إلى نحو 5 في المائة، خلال سبتمبر (أيلول) الحالي، مقارنة بـ4.8 في المائة خلال يوليو.

وأضافت أن توقعات المؤسسة تشير إلى أن أسعار المنازل ستبقى شِبه مستقرة، خلال الأشهر الأربعة المتبقية من العام، ما يعني أن الأسعار ستكون في الربع الأخير من عام 2026 أعلى بنحو 1.5 في المائة فقط، مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من العام السابق.

وفي أحدث البيانات الرسمية الصادرة عن مكتب الإحصاءات الوطنية البريطاني، ارتفعت أسعار المنازل بنسبة 2 في المائة، خلال الاثني عشر شهراً المنتهية في يونيو (حزيران)، مقارنة بنمو بلغ 3 في المائة خلال الفترة المنتهية في مايو (أيار)، ما يعكس تباطؤاً واضحاً في وتيرة نمو السوق العقارية البريطانية.
