سرق «اليوم التاريخي» الأميركي، أمس (الثلاثاء)، الأضواءَ من كل ما عداه. فهو بداية المعركة وليس خاتمتها، على الأرجح. وحدها المرحلة المقبلة ستُظهر ما إذا كان هذا «اليوم التاريخي» سيحمل بصماتِ القضاء أم بصماتِ دونالد ترمب.
ومع مثول الرئيس الأميركي السابق أمام محكمة مانهاتن أمس، كان السؤال المتداول في أميركا وخارجها: هل ينجح ترمب في قلب محاكمته «عاصفة انتخابية» تجمع مؤيديه وتعيده إلى البيت الأبيض في انتخابات 2024؟
ومثل الرئيس السابق، أمس، أمام محكمة مانهاتن في نيويورك في قضية الممثلة الإباحية ستورمي دانييلز؛ إذ تمَّ توقيفه وأخذ بصماته قبل توجيه 34 تهمة بينها قضية دانييلز، وهي اتهامات أكَّد ترمب براءته منها.
ومثل ترمب أمام القاضي خوان ميرشن الذي قرأ عليه التهمَ المتعلقةَ بالقضايا التي يواجهها، والتي تتراوح ما بين المخالفات والجنح، وقد يترتّب عليها السجن في حال إدانته بعد محاكمته.
وبهذا يكون الرئيس الـ45 للولايات المتحدة قد دخل التاريخ من الباب العريض، ليصبح بذلك أول رئيس أميركي يواجه تهماً جنائية في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة. وكتبَ ترمب على منصة «تروث سوشال»، التابعة له: «أنا ذاهب إلى (...) المحكمة. يبدو الأمر سريالياً للغاية... يا للهول، سيتم توقيفي! لا أصدّق أنَّ هذا يحدث في أميركا».
ولم يسمح القاضي ميرشن لشبكات التلفزة والراديو والصحف بنقل وقائع مثول ترمب أمامه بشكل مباشر، وهو موقف دعمه فريق محامي ترمب، الذي قال إنَّ تغطية من هذا النوع، «سوف تزيد من الأجواء المشابهة للسيرك حول هذه القضية».
ومن المفترض أن يتحدَّث ترمب، بعد مغادرته نيويورك، مع مناصريه من مقر إقامته في مارلاغو بفلوريدا.

Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Fahmy denounced Israel’s violations against Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese territories saying they cannot be viewed as isolated incidents or justified by fabricated security claims.

He said these actions reflect a persistent approach marked by the use of force, the imposition of a fait accompli, and violations of states' sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Saudi Press Agency said on Thursday.

In a statement, Fahmy asserted that Israel continues to act as a state that disregards international law. He called on the UN Security Council and the international community to take responsibility and implement practical measures to stop these violations and end the policy of impunity.

Fahmy underscored that Israel's actions not only threaten countries in the region but also undermine the credibility of the international legal order. He said they reinforce the notion that force can serve as an alternative to international legitimacy.

Saudi Royal Orders Transform Ehsan Platform into Independent Non-Profit Foundation

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued on Thursday a Royal Order to transform the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) into an independent non-profit foundation under the name "Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work".

The foundation aims to strengthen charitable work and connect donors with beneficiaries by providing diverse donation opportunities, enabling individuals and companies to donate, and, in coordination with government and private entities, enhancing the efficiency of the non-profit sector in the Kingdom.

Another Royal Order was issued to form the Board of Trustees of the Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work, chaired by Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi and his deputy Ahmed Al-Rajhi. The membership term is three years that can be renewed.

The board includes Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, governor of the General Authority for Awqaf, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Ruwaitea, Adib bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Zamil, Princess Nouf bint Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Abdulrahman, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed Al-Khalaf, and Emad bin Abdulqader bin Abdulmohsen Al-Muhaideb.

For more than five years, the Ehsan platform has received support and enabled contributions from all segments of society. As a result, the platform has received more than 440 million donations totaling SAR17 billion, underscoring society's confidence in the platform's role in empowering the Kingdom's charitable sector and its commitment to charitable giving across various fields.

This institutional transformation represents a major step toward achieving the objectives and future aspirations of charitable work in the Kingdom by strengthening the Ehsan Foundation for Charitable Work's ability to promote innovation and develop Ehsan platform services. It will also support programs, services and non-profit donation platforms and contribute to unifying technical and professional efforts in charitable and development work.

Abdi Announces Completion of SDF’s Civil, Military Integration with Damascus

The integration of the Kurdish administration within Syria's state institutions is now complete, Syrian Kurdish leader Mazloum Abdi said on Thursday.

The announcement follows months of negotiations between the two sides after a January agreement that called for the full integration of Kurdish civil and military institutions into the state -- a move Washington deemed "historic.”

"I want to say that the phase of integrating military, security and administrative institutions into national state institutions is complete and finished," Abdi, who heads the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, said at an event in Qamishli in northeastern Syria.

"From now on, we begin a new phase," he added.

"Our struggle will continue, to cement our people's rights in the constitution."

The January agreement, signed by Abdi and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, followed clashes between Syrian Kurdish fighters and the new authorities' forces that saw the Kurds lose swathes of territory they held in the oil-rich north and northeast.

Amid the violence, al-Sharaa signed on January 16 a decree enshrining the Kurds' national rights and recognizing Kurdish as a national language.

In February, Noureddine Ahmed Eissa, a Kurd from the city of Qamishli, was appointed governor of Hasakeh. In March, senior Kurdish military official Sipan Hamo was appointed regional assistant defense minister.

As part of the deal's implementation, government forces entered the cities of Hasakeh and Qamishli, and Damascus took over the management of Qamishli airport and key oil fields.

US troops also transferred more than 5,700 ISIS detainees in previously Kurdish-controlled camps to neighboring Iraq.
