Berlin to Launch New Venue for Esports Lovers
Despite the plastic sheets covered with painting spots, you can still see the futuristic white design, and computer screens spread all over the place. It is a new esports and gaming entertainment venue that is scheduled to launch by the end of March in Berlin.
The new 10 million-euro venue will feature a competition arena, gaming lounge, burger restaurant, bar, and cinema hall, as well as a television studio. The venue can accommodate up to 500 people at the same time and organizers project the number of visitors to hit 250,000 annually. The games played at the venue will be live-streamed on YouTube.
The new venue, located near the Checkpoint Charlie in Central Berlin, extends over 2500 square meters, and it is aimed at becoming the European Hub for esports lovers, the German News Agency reported.
Berlin is known as the European capital of esports, as it hosts the European championships League of Legends along with many other contests.
