Saudi King Stresses Importance of Interfaith Dialogue, Coexistence
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz met on Thursday with Secretary-General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar and members of the Center’s Board of Directors from a number of countries, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed the members of the Center, currently holding their first meeting in Riyadh, stressing the importance of its role in consolidating the principles of dialogue and coexistence among different religions and cultures, promoting the values of moderation and tolerance, and combating all forms of extremism and terrorism, SPA said.
The members of KAICIID expressed their appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the Kingdom’s support to the Center along with other member states, and Saudi Arabia’s efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance, coexistence and achieving global peace, it said.
The meeting also reviewed the Center’s activities, the agency added.
