Tripoli and the Zero Hour for Liberation
Zero hour was declared by the Libyan Army Commander Field Marshal Haftar by saying, “God willing, the Army will undoubtedly be victorious after the troops stationed around Tripoli advanced to commence the incursion of the capital to liberate it from the militias. The army leadership supplied the troops with all of its equipment and weapons, distributed tasks, launched operations, and announced the zero hour. It moved deep into Tripoli, while an aura of extreme confusion took over the militia leaderships as they fled collectively, which explains the state of collapse that the Tripoli militias are going through.
It is the zero hour for the second phase to advance and invade after the end of the first phase, where the Libyan Army succeeded in taking full control of the airspace and took down all of the drones supplied by the Turkish President Erdogan to the Tripoli militias. It was also able to take full control of the artillery and to exhaust and drain the militias by dragging them out of the capital. Then the second phase started, liberating Tripoli, which was taken hostage by these militias and international laxity towards the Turkish intervention in Libya.
The Turkish intervention in Libya to support the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood was outrageous and provocative. Military bases for drones were established in Misrata and Tripoli to support the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology in Turkey that is rejected by most of the Libyan people. What the Turkish government is doing is a full-blown crime by intervening in the sovereignty of a nation and member of the United Nations to seize its resources. Turkey is taking advantage of the chaos there and is sending weapons and equipment to fighters who fled from Syria and Iraq. It made Libya a sanctuary for terrorist groups and Brotherhood militias.
Erdogan’s Turkey has sought to plunder the Libyan peoples’ riches through a suspicious agreement, signed by the Government of National Accord, which allows Turkey to violate Libyan sovereignty and sells Libya for cheap.
The capital Tripoli has been held hostage to cross-boundary terrorist militias for years, militias with loyalties that oscillate between al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Brotherhood. The militias’ control over Tripoli started towards the very beginning of the movement in February 2011. Most of these militias in the capital were formed based on money and common interests, while the rest were based on affiliations such as those in Misrata, Alzintan, and Az-Zawiyah that compete over influence in the capital, despite there being militias that were formed on an ideological basis and then allied with militias of money and power.
Islamist militias, especially the Muslim Brotherhood, are still trying to turn Libya and its resources into a treasury for this confused, religiously creative, and politically bankrupt organization. It sought to take control of the capital as part of plans to take over power and money in all of Libya. Using incitement and orders by the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood (IOMB), especially those by Khairat el-Shater, a leader in the IOMB who had incited his group and IOMB members to take over Libya and its resources to restore their rule over Egypt after the fall of the Supreme Leader’s government there. The Libyan capital Tripoli is nothing more than a transit point for the Brotherhood.
With the beginning of zero hour, it has been settled, and the Brotherhood’s dreams of terrorist militias controlling Tripoli have been crushed. The Libyan Army’s advancement will defeat these militias with a purely Libyan will despite the international negligence towards this threat of the Brotherhood over the capital of power and money in Libya, which will soon be liberated.
