Saudi Arabia reiterated on Tuesday its rejection of Doha’s allegations that the Saudi government was placing obstacles for Qataris seeking to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired a cabinet meeting in Jeddah.

The gatherers stressed that the Kingdom has provided all possible services to ensure that pilgrims from all over the world, including Qatar, can smoothly perform the annual rituals.

The cabinet welcomed Islamic circles for their support for the Kingdom’s call for pilgrims to perform the Hajj.

In 2019, Saudi Arabia received some 8 million worshippers who performed the Umrah rituals and is expected to welcome some 2 million Hajj pilgrims from around the world.

King Salman briefed the ministers on his meeting in Jeddah with his Malaysian counterpart and Monday’s talks with Lebanese former Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Fouad Saniora and Tammam Salam. He expressed to his guests Riyadh’s keenness on the security and stability of Lebanon.
