Saudi Arabia Reiterates Commitment to Objectives of Int’l Coalition Fighting ISIS

The Saudi government stressed on Tuesday its commitment to the objectives of the international coalition combating ISIS, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz presided over the cabinet session that was held at the al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

The ministers discussed the results of the ministerial meeting for member states of the coalition that was held in Washington, saying that the Kingdom seeks to achieve the alliance’s goal of eradicating all forms of terrorism and extremism.

King Salman briefed the gatherers on the details of his talks with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In addition, the cabinet expressed its appreciation to the monarch and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for the attention they are dedicating to the holy city of Makkah and Medinah.

Crown Prince Mohammed had on Monday chaired the second meeting of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for the Holy City of Makkah and Holy Places.

The cabinet also hailed Crown Prince Mohammed for inaugurating on Monday the King Abdullah Port during a visit to the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and for presiding on Sunday over the launch of the vision for the ancient city of Al-Ula.

In addition, the ministers highlighted Saudi Arabia’s launch last week of its first satellite for communications (SGS-1).

The launch is part of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to localize strategic technologies in the Kingdom, increase local content and enable Saudi youths to work with advanced state-of-the-art technologies in the field of satellite development and manufacturing.
