Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama urged Saudis to benefit from investment opportunities in the country in several vital sectors including agriculture, water, renewable energy, and minerals.

Rama expected to launch investment partnerships that reinforce economic integration between the two countries, highlighting the doubled number of Saudi tourists in Albania and the facilitation provided by Albania as an investment environment.

This was stated during a meeting at the Council of Saudi Chambers on Thursday –when the Albanian minister of economy and finance delivered a presentation on investment opportunities in different sectors including tourism, minerals, construction, and natural resources (agriculture and water).

Vice-President of the Council of Saudi Chambers Munir bin Saad said that his country seeks to benefit from the resources and factors of Albania by supporting and increasing investment cooperation and propelling bilateral commerce that didn’t exceed USD3.5 million in 2017.

Bin Saad stressed on future work on exporting Saudi products to Albania, then to European markets especially that Albania is so close to becoming a member of the European Union. He added that weak commerce and investment between the two countries call for additional talks regarding obstacles.

Bin Saad underpinned cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Albania in the tourism sector in which Albania is known for its unique tourist regions that demand tourist services, facilities, and establishments. He also affirmed that efforts will be exerted to remove all obstacles hindering flexible commerce and investment between the two friendly countries.

Further, the Saudi Exports Development Authority delivered a presentation on its facilitation to investors and exporters and its encouragement of Saudi non-oil exports.
