The Saudi government condemned on Tuesday the escalating harmful measures against Palestinians by Israeli authorities.

Chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the cabinet called on the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities in thwarting the expansion of settlement projects.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, then briefed the ministers, meeting in Riyadh, on his talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday. The two officials discussed the historic bilateral ties between Riyadh and Washington, as well as the latest regional developments.

The ministers then reviewed the energy minister’s announcement on the Kingdom's fixed oil and gas reserves, which were confirmed by the independent certification conducted by leading consultants DeGolyer and MacNaughton (D&M).

This reaffirms the importance of the Kingdom and its global role as a safe source of long-term oil supply, transparency in the dissemination of information and balanced governance of the oil sector.

Information Minister Turki al-Shabana added that the ministers also hailed the state security agency’s preemptive operation against a terrorist cell in the al-Qatif region last week.

The operation helped thwart the terrorists’ criminal plot, said Shabana.

The cabinet also approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Saudi Arabia and South Korea, concerning the organization of procedures for granting visiting visas to the citizens of both countries.
