China Cultural Center in Morocco has opened its doors in Rabat on Tuesday, seeking to promote and enhance ties between Morocco and China, given the important role played by culture in bringing people together to learn about the history and civilization of each country.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Moroccan Minister of Culture and Communication Mohamed El Aaraj, China's Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Li Jinzao, the Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Li Li, Senior Adviser to King Mohammed VI of Morocco André Azoulay, and Moroccan Minister of Tourism Mohammed Sajid.

Speaking during the ceremony, Aaraj stressed that the opening of the Center in Rabat is considered the second of its kind in the Arab world and it highlights the deep Moroccan-Chinese cultural relation and its openness on various fields.

The Moroccan official said the cultural exchange between the two countries saw a long and rich journey, mainly in writing and arts, through different activities organized in the Moroccan and Chinese cities, which saw contribution in joint or multilateral conferences and forums.

Aaraj considered that the establishment of this cultural specializing institution will add a great value to the cooperation between China and the Moroccan Kingdom, as it will boost and shape the Chinese cultural activity in Morocco.
