Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani has conveyed an invitation from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to attend the Dec 9 GCC summit in Saudi Arabia.

The Bahraini king commended King Salman’s efforts to develop joint Gulf work, his leading role in fostering security, stability and peace in the region, and maintaining the interest of GCC states and their peoples.

Zayani also extended an invitation to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to attend the summit.

The invitation was handed to Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, who received Zayani in Doha on Tuesday.
