Saudi Tourism Commission Prepares to Hold ‘Roads of Arabia Expo’

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) and Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum continued their preparations for the opening of the upcoming “Roads of Arabia Expo”, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

The exhibit will be held at the Louvre Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the presence of Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, SCTH President.

It will open on November 7 and continue until February 16, 2019.

Since its launch in 2010, the Expo has been held in 14 different countries.

It was launched for the first time in Europe at the Louver Museum in Paris on February 13, 2010, followed by the la Caixa Foundation in Barcelona, the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.

In the United States, the Expo was at first hosted by the Sackler Museum in the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, followed by the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh, the Fine Art Museum in Houston, Texas, the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City and finally the Asian Arts Museum in San Francisco.
