SABIC Unveils Nusaned to Enrich Local Content

SABIC showcased its national initiative Nusaned to enrich local content, in the introductory meeting held by Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry represented by Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources committee on Wednesday in the headquarters of the chamber.

The participants taking part in the meeting presented an introduction of the initiative and its role in supporting and developing the local content in the kingdom as well as empowering Saudi Vision 2030, increasing localization of industrial techniques, providing new job opportunities, and raising Saudi exports through backing investors.

The chamber revealed that there is ongoing work to tackle challenges facing industrial growth – meanwhile, SABIC announced an initiative to localize 75 percent of purchases to urge and develop local content.

Engineer Osama al-Zamil, chairman of Industrial Committee of Riyadh Chamber, stressed the strategic partnership with SABIC, commending the initiatives launched by the committee to support the industrial sector and to prepare the industrial investment environment.

He added that the committee’s efforts continue to tackle several challenges facing the private industrial sector, in general, and the affiliates with Riyadh chamber belonging to Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources committee, in specific. Their total is 1,861, knowing that the number of factories in Riyadh reached 3,133.

Engineer Fuad Mosa, vice president of SABIC's Local Content & Business Development Unit, affirmed that the purposes of the initiative are to motivate the industrial sector and achieve Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

Mosa affirmed that given the potentials of SABIC, it is capable of accomplishing the vision goals by creating job opportunities, in the investment and transformational fields, that assist in enriching the local content.
