Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh received in Aden on Wednesday United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

The two officials discussed the latest developments in Yemen and UN efforts to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Saleh said that the legitimate government constantly sought peace based on the Gulf initiative, national dialogue outcomes and UN Security Council resolution 2216.

He stressed that the government had positively received all peace calls and consultations, while the Iran-backed Houthi militias have maintained their intransigence at the expense of the lives of the Yemeni people.
