Saudi Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad awarded on Wednesday the fourth license for operation of a cinema theater to the Lux Entertainment Company, in partnership with Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development, Sinopolis International and Al-Taeir Group, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

These partnerships seek to establish about 300 cinema theaters, at various venues, in 15 cities and towns, across the Kingdom, within five years.

The Board of Directors of the General Authority for Audiovisual Media, headed by Awwad, had approved in December the issuing of licenses for companies wishing to open theaters in the Kingdom.

This will support the film sector to stimulate growth and economic diversification and provide job opportunities, within new industries, in line with the ambitious Vision of the Kingdom 2030.
