Algeria President, Saudi Interior Minister Discuss Security Cooperation

President of Algeria Abdulaziz Bouteflika received in Algiers on Monday Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz.

During the talks, the Interior Minister conveyed to the president and the people of Algeria the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense.

The two officials discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest regional and international developments.

Prince Abdulaziz had arrived in Algeria on Sunday on an official visit.

He met with Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Urban Planning Noureddine Badawi to address means of bilateral cooperation

Meanwhile, the Secretariat General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council announced on Monday that it had selected Prince Abdulaziz as its honorary president in recognition of Saudi Arabia’s constructive support for Arab security cooperation.

In a statement, the Secretariat General affirmed that the Arab Interior Ministers unanimously chose Prince Abdulaziz, citing his permanent keenness to consolidate and develop his country's support for the council.

The Secretariat General extended thanks and appreciation to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed for rendering support to the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
