15 Competitions, Prizes in Souk Okaz Festival 2018

This year's edition of the annual Souk Okaz festival will witness 15 competitions and prizes, giving the chance for poets, writers and plastic artists in the Arab world to participate.

Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of Okaz Market has approved the prizes and competitions of the 12th session of the Market in 1439H to be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Taif next Shawwal.

The General Secretariat of Okaz Market announced the opening of nominations for competitions and prizes to poets, plastic artists, writers, innovators in the field of science, calligraphers and photographers in the Arab world.

The Okaz Market awards include 15 prizes covering a wide range of creativity in arts and social and human sciences, including: These include Okaz International Prize for Arabic Poetry (Poet of Okaz), Okaz Young Poet prize, Okaz Literary Award, Okaz International Prize for Handicrafts, Okaz International Prize for Arabic Calligraphy, Innovation Prize, Entrepreneurship Prize, Photography Competition, Folk Arts Competition, and the Okaz Theater Competition.

For the first time this year, prizes in literary appreciation and short film competition will be introduced.

The secretariat in cooperation with the Cultural Committee of the market of Okaz has announced the start of receiving nominations for the awards and competitions of the current session amounting to SR 2.5 million.

The Cultural Committee of the Okaz market will receive candidates' nominations effective from 15/7 /1439H corresponding to 1/4/2018 through the website of Okaz Market www.sooqokaz.com

The 12th edition of the annual Souk Okaz festival will begin in Taif on June 27 and last for 17 days.
