The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced on Sunday that it was holding the necessary contacts with the concerned authorities in order to follow up on the arrest of two Lebanese nationals who were found in possession of large amounts of ammunition belonging to the peacekeeping force.

Lebanese security forces arrested on Saturday two Lebanese people in the southern town of Bint Jbeil or possessing “large amounts” of UNIFIL ammunition.

UNIFIL’s press office told Lebanon’s National News Agency that the international force is following up on the issue with the General Security directorate.
